Today's article is regarding CA Foundation Course. You will get to know about eligibility, syllabus, registration, exams, fees, marks, weightage, and passing percentage for clearing the CA foundation course all in one place.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India regulates the Chartered Accountancy profession in the country.
The ICAI is a statutory body set up by an act of Parliament. It works under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Government of India.
The Institute is the second largest professional body of Chartered Accountants in the world.
CA Foundation is the entry-level for the Chartered Accountant course.

5. Revalidation
Que. Who can register for the CA foundation course?
Ans. After passing the 10th exam, the students can enroll in the CA foundation course. However, students are eligible to give CA foundation exams after clearing 10+2 exams.
10th exams or 10+2 exams should have been conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central
Government as equivalent.
Below is the list of examinations treated as equivalent to senior secondary examination.

👉Apart from the above, the 10+2 examination recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is eligible for the registration of the CA foundation course.
👉Students from any stream ( science, commerce, or arts) can apply for the registration of the CA foundation course.
👉Students can apply for registration irrespective of any passing percentage in secondary/higher secondary examinations. There are no minimum passing criteria for registration in the CA foundation course.
So, You learned two things,
👉First, You can REGISTER for the CA Foundation course after passing the 10th exam. IF you have chosen the above option, you get provisional registration based on the 10th mark sheet in the CA Foundation Course. Once you upload your 12th mark sheet, your provisional registration converts to confirmed registration.
👉Second, You will be eligible for CA Foundation EXAMS only after appearing for the 12th exam. Here, you need to upload your 12th mark sheet.
CA Foundation Registration is done on ONLINE MODE. No offline/Hard copy/physical submission of documents in the ICAI office is required.

👣 STEPS FOR PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION IN CA FOUNDATION COURSE ( For those who have passed the 10th exam & not appeared for the 12th exam)
i. Visit site: icai.org
ii. Search for E-services at the top right corner.
iii. From the drop-down of E-Services Click for Student services
iv. Once you select Student services, a page is open. here search for ENTRY LEVEL FORMS {Foundation and Intermediate (Direct Forms)}
v. You remove hardship I have given a link: https://www.icai.org/post/students-services
vi. Fill this form CAREFULLY as no change is allowed after form submission.
Also, your name, salutation, Date of birth, gender should be as per your 10th/12th
mark sheet or certificate.
vii. Mention your Email-id, Mobile Number, Country name & Nationality.
viii. Fill the form, generate OTP, enter captcha code, then Validate OTP and submit the form. OTP is valid for 15 minutes only.
{You will get a temporary ID and password in your email. This temporary id and password will be used for login in the self-service portal in the NEW Foundation and Intermediate(direct Entry form)}
ix. A page "SELF SERVICE PORTAL" will open.
x. Go for the 'student cycle' then select the option Apply for the foundation.
xi. The registration form has three parts :
A.Personal details,
B.Qualification details, and
C.Payment details.
A). In the personal details section,
i. Fill in the name, d.o.b, address, marital status, father's name, mother's name, category, are you differently-abled, are you a staff ward ( if either of your parents works at ICAI), etc.
ii. Fill only those details that are marked with (*). Thus you can leave Aadhar no, Pan no, passport details, blood group, visa no, visa period, and ICAI permission no.
iii. Click SAVE & NEXT
B) The qualification section will open.
i. Fill in the Class X details - roll no, board, month & year of examination, the result, and then upload your self-attested 10th mark sheet.
* Self attest means signing your own documents.
ii. Select the medium of study (Hindi/English)
iii. Then SAVE & NEXT
C). Now, you are in the payment details sections.
i. Here, upload a scanned copy of your photo & signature.
(file size < 100 KB, Allowed Format: JPG/JPEG/PNG.Max Image size: width =21 cm, length=27 cm)
ii. Photo & Signature are mandatory documents.
iii. Use the 'I M RESIZER' website on google to resize, convert, or crop photo/signature.
iv. Scroll down, see the registration fees of Rs 9200( if you do not opt for a member's journal), or else it is Rs 9600. Click on generate OTP, enter Captcha code then submit it. An OTP is sent on your mobile, Validate it and select the submit option.OTP is valid for 15 minutes.
v. You are directed to a payment gateway. Select any given option Paytm/Debit card/Credit card/EMI/Net banking/UPI and make payment. A pop-up window for successful payment is generated. Click Ok & you will see a page with your photo, name, email id & contact number.
Hurray!! Provisional registration is granted to you.🙌
🙏Points to be remember
👀If DOB is not visible on the mark sheet then upload your mark sheet & passing certificate both as a single file. File size < 1 MB, Allowed Format: JPG/JPEG/PDF/PNG/DOC
👀Also, If the original mark sheet is not available then download the mark sheet from the website and get it attested by the school principal or a practice chartered accountant bearing a membership number & signature as recorded with the Institute,
👣 STEPS FOR REGISTRATION IN CA FOUNDATION COURSE ( For those who have passed the 10th exam & appeared for the 12th exam)
I. Visit: https://eservices.icai.org/EForms/configuredHtml/1666/57499/Registration.html?action=newuser
II. Fill in your name, salutation, Date of birth, and gender should be as per your 10th/12th mark sheet or certificate.
III. Other details required: email Id, mobile number, country name & Nationality.
IV. Once you fill the form, generate OTP, enter Captcha Code, then Validate OTP and submit the form.OTP is valid for 15 minutes only.
V. Fill this form CAREFULLY as no change is allowed after form submission.
{You will get a temporary ID and password in your email. This temporary id and password will be used for login in the self-service portal in the NEW Foundation and Intermediate(direct Entry form)}
VI. A page "SELF SERVICE PORTAL" will open.
VII. Click the 'student cycle' then select the 'Apply for the foundation'.
VIII. The registration form appears before you.
It divides into three parts:
1) Personal details,
2) Qualification details, and
3) Payment details.
1) In the personal details section,
a. Fill in the name, d.o.b, address, marital status, father's name, mother's name, category, are you differently-abled, are you a staff ward ( if either of your parents works at ICAI), etc.

b. Fill in the Class XII details - roll no, board, month & year of examination, the result, and then upload your self-attested 12th mark sheet. ( Upload admit card if your 12th result is not yet declared, select the result 'awaited' you will be granted provisional registration)
* Self attest means signing your own documents.
c. Select the medium of study (Hindi/English)
d. Then SAVE & NEXT
3) Now, you are in the payment details sections.
a. Here, upload a scanned copy of your photo & signature.
(file size < 100 KB, Allowed Format: JPG/JPEG/PNG.Max Image size: width =21 cm, length=27 cm)
b. Photo & Signature are mandatory documents.

After a few days, you will receive the Registration number (NRO/WRO/CRO/SRO) & SSP portal permanent login-id (NRO@icai.org) and password. Keep it carefully.
You will receive a link to order books in the email id.

👉Registration fees for Indian nationals residing in SAARC Countries and Foreign nationals belonging to SAARC Countries is rs 9200.
💡Revalidation
Registration for CA Foundation Course is valid for three years. You can revalidate your registration by paying Rs 300 thru the Self-service portal.
