Today's article is regarding CA Intermediate Course. You will get to know about eligibility, syllabus, registration, exams, fees, marks, weightage, and revalidation for clearing the CA Intermediate course at First Attempt.
🏃So, Let's begin our learning journey.
CA Foundation is the entry-level for the Chartered Accountant course.
CA Intermediate is the Next level after CA Foundation.
There are two routes for registration in CA Intermediate Course:
a.After Passing CA foundation
b.Direct Entry Route
Here, I will cover the registration part thru Direct Entry.
📌ELIGIBILITY FOR DIRECT ENTRY ROUTE
📖 COMMERCE Graduates/Post Graduates and secures 55%
📖 NON-Commerce Graduates/Post Graduates and secures 60%
📖 Students who cleared the Intermediate level of Company Secretaries OR Cost Accountant.
CA Intermediate Registration is done ONLINE. No offline/Hard copy/physical submission of documents in the ICAI office is required.
✅Steps for registration in CA Intermediate thru Direct Entry Route:
I. Visit: https://eservices.icai.org/EForms/configuredHtml/1666/57499/Registration.html?action=newuser
(for first-time account creation)
II. Fill in your name, salutation, Date of birth, and gender should be as per your 10th/12th mark sheet or certificate.
III. Other details required: email Id, mobile number, country name & Nationality.
IV. Once you fill the form, generate OTP, enter Captcha Code, then Validate OTP and submit the form.OTP is valid for 15 minutes only.
V. Fill this form CAREFULLY as no change is allowed after form submission.
{You will get a temporary ID: APPXXXXXXX and a six-digit password in your email. This temporary id and password will be used for login in the self-service portal in the NEW Foundation and Intermediate(direct Entry form)}
VI. A page "SELF SERVICE PORTAL" will open.
VII. Click the 'student cycle' then select the 'Apply for the direct entry for new applicants'.
VIII. The registration form appears before you.
It divides into three parts:
1) Personal details,
2) Qualification details, and
3) Payment details.
1) In the personal details section,
a. Fill in the name, d.o.b, address, marital status, father's name, mother's name, category, are you differently-abled, are you a staff ward ( if either of your parents works at ICAI), etc.
b. Fill only those details that are marked with (*). Thus you can leave AAdhar no, Pan no, passport details, blood group, visa no, visa period, and ICAI permission no.
c. Enter correspondence address (a location where you want to receive ICAI documents, books, and other communications)
d. Select option YES for the same permanent address.
e. Click SAVE & NEXT
2)The qualification section will open.
a. Fill in the Class X details - roll no, board, month & year of examination, the result, and then upload your self-attested 10th mark sheet.
b. Fill in the Class XII details - roll no, board, month & year of examination, the result, and then upload your self-attested 12th mark sheet. ( Upload admit card if your 12th result is not yet declared, select the result 'awaited' you will be granted provisional registration)
* Self-attest mean signing your own documents.
c. Select the mode of registration- Graduation/Post Graduation/Intermediate level of CS or Cost accountant/Equivalent foreign graduation.
d. Enter your roll number, board/authority/university, month and year of examination, and results per the mode of registration.
Suppose you have passed the intermediate level of Company Secretary, Select mode of registration as Intermediate level of ICSI then fill the roll number, board/authority/university, month and year of examination, and results.
The same applies to Under Graduate qualifications. Select mode of registration as Graduation/Post-Graduation, select course viz B.com/BBA under examination heading then fill the roll number, board/authority/university, month and year of examination, and results.
Upload self-attested copies of mark sheet, admit card, or certificate.
Other Points:
Students who are in the last year of graduation/post-graduation or in the last semester can register provisionally for CA Inter.
No need to wait for final year exams to register For CA intermediate.
In such a scenario select the result as awaited and upload a self-attested copy of admit card.
Once registered provisionally upload a self-attested copy of the mark sheet within six months from the date of provisional registration.
( Student can complete ICITSS within the provisional registration period but can not commence articleship. Articleship can starts once you are registered means you upload a self-attested copy of the final year/semester mark sheet.)
c. Select the medium of study (Hindi/English)
d. Then SAVE & NEXT
3) Now, you are in the payment details sections.
a. Here, upload a scanned copy of your photo & signature.
(file size < 100 KB, Allowed Format: JPG/JPEG/PNG.Max Image size: width =21 cm, length=27 cm)
b. Photo & Signature are mandatory documents.
c. Use the 'I M RESIZER' website on google to resize, convert, or crop photo/signature.
d. Scroll down, you will see the registration fees of Rs 18200 (if you do not opt for a journal), or else it is Rs 18400.
e. Click on generate OTP, enter Captcha code then submit it.
f. An OTP is received on your mobile, validate it and select on submit option. OTP is valid for 15 minutes.
g. A payment gateway page will open. Select any given option Paytm/Debit card/Credit card/EMI/Net banking/UPI and make payment. A pop-up window for successful payment will appear. Click Ok & you will see a page with your photo, name, email id & contact number.
After a few days, you will receive the Registration number (NRO/WRO/CRO/SRO) & SSP portal permanent login-id (NRO@icai.org) and password. Keep it carefully.
You will receive a link to order books in the email id.
🙏 Points to be remember
👀 If DOB is not visible on the mark sheet, upload your mark sheet & passing certificate both as a single file. File size < 1 MB, Allowed Format: JPG/JPEG/PDF/PNG/DOC
👀 Also, If the original mark sheet is not available, download the mark sheet from the website and get it attested by the school principal or a practice chartered accountant bearing a membership number & signature as recorded with the Institute,

Once registered for CA Intermediate thru the direct entry route, students need to undergo four weeks of ICITSS training and complete nine months of articleship to be able to appear in CA Intermediate exams.
👀Applicable Fees:
a. Registration fees 18200
b. Exam fees 2700(both groups) 1500 (single group)
c. ICITSS(ITT & OP) 6500 & 7000 respectively.
💡Articleship Registration
Once registered for CA Intermediate(provisional registration regularise), Students
can start their articleship.
✔Visit the Self-service portal. Login with ID(starts with NRO/WRO/ERO/CRO@icai.org) and password.
✔Select the option Articleship Cycle in the Self-service portal.
✔Select Articleship details under drop-down situated next to Articleship/Auditship module.
✔Click on Articleship deed form(102/103) under Articleship details.
✔The name and registration number are pre-filled.
✔Fill in the details of training under member/firm. Enter the date of commencement of articleship and membership number of a member.
✔Download the deed in pdf format and execute the deed on stamp paper.
✔Keep a scanned copy ready.
✔Select the option to edit the form and fill the registration form.
✔Fill in the mandatory details and verify the personal details. Click Next.
✔Check your qualification details, verify them and press next.
✔Check your CA Course details, verify them and press next.
✔Verify Articleship Details, check the box I Agree, and press submit.
✔Your Principal (under whom you train) needs to approve the form. The principal will log in thru a member's login. The principal sees the details under the articleship/auditship module as forms for approval.
✔After approval, download the pdf and get it signed by the principal.
✔Upload the signed scanned copy of the pdf(form 102 & form 103) under the submitted application tab.
Pay the fees if applicable and click on submit button.
